Detector Media

Детектор медіа · also Детектор медіа

Ukrainian media-watch NGO and website of the same name, successor to Telekrytyka, that analyses and critiques Ukrainian media coverage and promotes media literacy.

Detector Media is a civic organization (NGO) that owns the online outlet of the same name and is the legal successor to the media-criticism group Telekrytyka. The site launched on February 8, 2016; the Ukrainian Wikipedia lists Nataliia Lyhachova as the organization's head and editor-in-chief, while flagging that some of the article may be out of date.

Its work is analysing and criticizing Ukrainian media, resisting the use of media for propaganda and promoting media literacy; it also runs an English-language site. A 2026 analysis noted that Ukraine has fewer foreign workers than before the full-scale war (work permits fell from 21,800 in 2021 to 7,500 in 2025), yet online debate keeps returning to an alleged "influx of foreigners."
